How I Got Here

The 180 Society was born out of a commitment to provide more than just a room; it was born to provide a sanctuary for true transformation. My own recovery journey taught me that accountability doesn't have to come at the cost of dignity. We advocate for a path that honors individual choice, integrating mindful practices and nature-informed healing to support those navigating the difficult turns of life. Here, you aren't defined by your struggle, but by your decision to move in a new direction. Our community is built on the belief that when we remove stigma, we make room for real healing to begin.

The Journey

The Turning Point

My life was once a series of rapid, destructive motions. I was caught in a cycle that felt impossible to break, moving further away from the person I knew I was meant to be. It wasn't until I hit a wall of absolute silence that I realized the direction I was heading would only lead to further disconnection. Sometimes, all it takes is one decision to make a 180—a single moment where you decide that the past no longer defines the future.

Finding New Ground

Recovery revealed itself not as a destination, but as a rediscovery of the earth beneath my feet. I began to explore holistic paths that traditional settings often overlooked. Nature became my sanctuary, and plant-based medicine offered a mindful integration that helped bridge the gap between trauma and stability. It was about harm reduction, intentionality, and finding a frequency that resonated with my personal truth.

The Birth of the Society

The 180 Society was born from a simple observation: there were so many of us who didn't fit into the 'traditional' rooms. We needed a space grounded in accountability, but free from stigma and dogma. I wanted to build a trusted network of community-driven spaces across New Jersey where people could feel safe exploring alternative pathways. A place where 'Cali-Sober' wasn't a punchline, but a respected methodology for those transitioning toward healing.

Our Collective Future

Today, we continue to grow, collaborating with medical professionals and research organizations to legitimize plant-informed healing. Our journey isn't about getting high; it's about getting whole. Every room we open and every life that turns around proves that when we provide connection instead of isolation, healing is not only possible—it is inevitable. We are here to support you in every slight shift toward clarity and purpose.
